Biocenter Finland’s Director, Olli Silvennoinen, will conclude his term following its completion.
We would like to express our warmest thanks to Olli for his dedicated and inspiring leadership during his tenure. It has been a pleasure to work with him. Under his guidance, collaboration between Finnish universities has been further strengthened and the activities of Biocenter Finland have continued to develop. He has also played a key role in advancing research infrastructures and increasing their visibility at the national level.
During Olli’s tenure, Biocenter Finland has seen significant progress in securing research infrastructure funding through the FIRI funding instruments. He has also contributed to strengthening the national profile of research infrastructures, reflected in the recognition of Biocenter Finland through lighthouse status. Furthermore, the inclusion of research infrastructures in the Government Programme is in part a result of sustained advocacy and development efforts during this period.
Olli’s commitment has left a lasting mark on Biocenter Finland and its network.
Following his term as Director, Olli will continue his research activities, which he has pursued alongside his leadership responsibilities.
