Biocenter Finland has appointed a new Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) to support the development of Finnish life science research infrastructures. The SAB brings together internationally recognized leaders across Europe with expertise spanning the entire life science field from genomics and proteomics to structural biology, imaging, and scientific infrastructures.
The SAB’s role is to provide independent international evaluation of Biocenter Finland’s operations and offer advice on strategy and long-term development, ensuring that Finnish infrastructure remains internationally competitive and serves the research community effectively.
“The appointment of our new Scientific Advisory Board marks an important step for Biocenter Finland. Their international experience and perspectives will help us strengthen our platforms and anticipate the needs of future research,” said Olli Silvennoinen, Director of Biocenter Finland.

The SAB will meet regularly with Biocenter Finland and its technology platforms, beginning with their first visit during Biocenter Finland Day 2025 in Helsinki.
